I guess that's why they call it the blues.

So, the Predators are out of the Playoffs.  Waaaaaah!

I decided to freshen up my navy manicure from Sunday with a little experimentation, as I am wont to do when a manicure is nearing the end of its life.  Forthwith, Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues with Essie Matte About You topcoat on all the the ringfinger.  The french-tipped ringfinger bears a sky-blue H&M polish whose name escapes me.  (Sorry, it's not here with me, but it's a recent purchase, so I'm sure they still have it.)

Since my hands are not ready for their close-up at the moment and since you saw Lady Sings the Blues already, I decided not to focus on color-accuracy.  Instead, let's give a shout-out to the Instamatic app for the iPhone.  It makes any picture taken by any knucklehead (namely Yours Truly) look reaaaally groovy.  Check it out!

NOTD: Playoff Time in Music City!

It's a VERY exciting time in Nashville, with our Nashville Predators skating farther along in the Stanley Cup Playoffs than they ever have before.  Today my family and I went out to the airport with about 300 fellow fans to welcome the guys home from Vancouver.

I figured there was no time like the present to try out my new Deborah Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues.  I know the Predators are really pushing the gold, but I'm sticking with the navy, white and silver, thankyousoverymuch.

I got moxie!

Ya know, I miss old timey words like peachy, spunk and catawampus.  I think that's why I like today's Pink Wednesday color.  Heeeeere's Moxie!

This spiffy berry is a blue-based color from Zoya.  I've really been struggling lately with how to get Zoya to stay put.  The colors are gorgeous, but they just don't wanna stick around!  For this mani, I went through all the steps of the Zoya Color Lock System and got TERRIBLE bubbles!  If you maximize the picture, you can probably see the dots all over my middle finger (and the fingerprint on my ring finger, yowza).  I quickly applied a coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri Clear to try to weigh down the bubbles, but they were so bad on my index finger that I had to do something to cover them up.

Hautelook.com recently had a half-price beautybar.com gift certificate, and I acquired my very first Lippman polishes.  I refuse to pay $18 for a bottle of polish - sorry, girls!  Here on my pointer you see Lippmann Today Was a Fairytale.  I am LOVING it, so expect to see it a lot in the future.

Happy Hump Day!
